Economic Developement

At the top of Oak Harbor’s priority list is it’s commitment to maintaining a healthy economy. In 2004 the City adopted a redevelopment plan to enhance the community’s waterfront. The Windjammer Project, as it is known, is a multi-million dollar, multi-year community investment effort that includes enhancing the public waterfront as well as a major downtown revitalization.

North of town there are several acres of landed primed for Oak Harbor’s future in light manufacturing. Currently home to construction companies, auto detailing, boat builders and the production of specialized medical supplies, much of this land is still available for development.
